HP PCs, HP Deskjet plus 4100 - HP Update Software is Retired (Windows)
This document is for HP computers with Windows and HP printers.
HP Update, also known as HP Software Update Utility, has been retired and
is no longer providing new software updates. When HP Update checks for
updates, a No new updates available message displays.
HP recommends uninstalling HP Update with the Uninstall a program feature in Windows.

How do I get the latest software updates?
To download and install the latest version of software for your
printer or computer, select one of the following links:

HP Software and Driver Downloads: Provides any available full feature and basic drivers, firmware updates, and driver updates for printers and computers.

123.hp.com (printers only): Guided driver download and installation service for Windows and Mac users that installs the full feature (recommended) driver for most printers released in 2013 and later.
An 'HP Update Error' message displays. What do I do?
When attempting to install an update from HP, one of the following
errors occurs:

Your system does not meet the operating system requirements. Update has been cancelled. (9997)

Your system does not meet the operating system requirements. Update has been cancelled. (9998)
As HP Update is no longer in service, make sure to uninstall HP Update
with the Uninstall a program feature in
Windows.
What if HP Update fails to install during software installation?
After successfully installing your printer software, an install screen
might show that HP Update is recommended but could not be installed.
As HP Update is no longer in service, click Continue to
finish the installation without installing HP Update.

A 'This program has been blocked for your protection' message displays. What do I do?
When using or uninstalling HP Update, a This program has been
blocked for your protection message displays on the computer.
Make sure to uninstall HP Update with the Uninstall a program feature in Windows.
