HP DeskJet 2700, 4100, 4800 printers - Printing self-test pages

Printer self-test reports provide status information and help resolve hardware, ink, and network connectivity problems.

Print a test page

A test page displays information to make sure the printer hardware functions correctly.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Press and hold the Power button, and then press the Cancel button.

  3. Release the Cancel button, then the Power button.

Print a Printer Status Report

A Printer Status Report lists general information about the printer, such as product information, connectivity settings, and scan settings.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Press and hold the Cancel button  for three seconds.

Print a Wireless Network Test page

A Wireless Network Test Results page lists network settings, such as network status and the printer IP address.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Press the Wireless  and Information  buttons at the same time.

Print a Network Configuration Page

Print a Network Configuration Page to make sure the printer is on the same network as the device.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Press the Wireless  and Information  buttons at the same time.

Print a Printer Information Page

Print a Printer Information Page to find information about mobile printing, the wireless network connection, and the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Press the Information button .

Print a Web Services Report

Print a Web Services Report to see the Web Services status, turn on Web Services, and fix connection issues.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Press the Cancel  and Information  buttons at the same time.

Print a Wi-Fi Direct Report

Print a Wi-Fi Direct Report to see the Wi-Fi Direct status, turn on Wi-Fi Direct, find the Wi-Fi Direct password, and fix connection issues.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Press the Information  and Resume  buttons at the same time.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page

A Print Quality Diagnostic page helps identify the source of print quality issues.

  1. Open the HP Smart app and select your printer.

  2. Click Printer Reports, and then click Print Quality Report.
